About me
Sherri Manko, MSW, RSW

Welcome! It takes courage to take the first steps towards getting help, I want you to know that it does get easier. I can support you to discover your strengths and help you make the changes you need to get on the road to feeling whole. You understand your situation best, which means you also hold a solution to the challenges you currently face. That doesn't mean it is easy, you might feel so overwhelmed that you may be unable to see any way to get out of your difficult situation. This is where counselling can help.
I have over five years experience practicing as a counsellor. Previously, I have worked for an Employee Assistance Program providing counselling and training counsellors in their network. I completed a Masters of Social Work at the University of Toronto in 2008 and have been a Registered Social Worker since then.
Some of the reasons people see me for counselling include:
- Anxiety
- Stress (at home, at work)
- Depression
- Past traumas
- Parenting challenges
- Relationship difficulties (with romantic partners, with friends, with family members)
Many therapists use what is described as an "eclectic" counselling style. For me, this means using elements from the most useful, and evidence-based (researched) counselling modalities. When we work together, I will be sure to let you know my rationale for suggesting a particular approach. Your feedback will be crucial in creating the best environment for you to grow and make the changes you are looking for. You are, of course, the expert on your situation.
Some of the counselling styles I use are:
- Attachment-based
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Mindfulness Meditation
- Narrative
- Psychodynamic
- Solution-Focused
I regularly consult with experienced therapists and participate in professional development opportunities as frequently as possible to be sure I am providing my clients with the most useful, evidence-based clinical support.
