What to expect
It takes courage to make change
If you think that you could benefit from psychotherapy, I would be honoured to work with you.
You can contact me here with any questions, or to book your first appointment. I have daytime and occasional evening appointments available, and I am currently booking about one month away for first appointments.
I meet with people using a secure online video platform (or over the phone).
During our first meeting, we will review our expectations of counselling and then start to refine your major counselling goals. Maybe you have specific goals, like becoming more assertive with a coworker or manager at work, or maybe you're looking for parenting tips to help with an especially challenging time. It could also be that you are not yet sure of your goals, don't worry - we can work on them together.
Once we have set some goals, we can get started on a plan. What needs to happen in order to move towards achieving your goals? How will we know that you're getting closer? We will often check in during our sessions, ensuring that we are both on the right track and that I am helping you move forward.
Some people are looking for just a few sessions to work on a specific challenge, while other people find that they need to spend more time in counselling. I meet with most people weekly at first, and from there we may move to bi-weekly or even monthly sessions. Because counselling is a significant expense (yet a very important investment!), I will do my best to work out a plan that works for you.
